Beyond social media: Sensible buying in Hua Hin and why expert guidance matters
This month, a few colleagues suggested I hold back on freely sharing advice, as it could give local agents without proper offices or structures an edge.
But I’ve always believed that the more sensible buyers will see through the endless social media posts and recognise the importance of taking this next step carefully. After all, moving here can be life-changing.
I’m committed to helping those exploring life in Hua Hin, and I take pride in understanding not just the property market but also the legal and visa requirements that come with it.
Unfortunately, I’ve seen too many people rely solely on social media, only to end up regretting their decisions or feeling they were misled during the process.
Social platforms are great for initial ideas, but there’s a point where you need a reliable agent – or even a trusted friend – to guide you through the entire process.
It’s true that agents can have a bad reputation, often seen as earning too much for too little effort. But with Hua Hin Property 2009, people become clients for life.
Whether it’s buying, selling, renting, or settling into the community, we’re here to offer continuous support.
I’ll keep sharing insights openly, hoping sensible buyers will reach out to us and discover just how easy it is to enjoy life in Hua Hin.
Understanding the market
Recently, we took a trip to Hong Kong to learn more about the growing number of expat buyers moving to Hua Hin. Many of these buyers are still working, or they’ve found ways to run their businesses remotely. One buyer commented that a silver lining from the pandemic is realising that many professions don’t require you to be tied to a desk.
We also met people who love life in Hong Kong, where employers typically cover essential needs such as schooling, healthcare, and accommodation. Hong Kong is a vibrant place, full of opportunities to enjoy life – until retirement hits, that is. When employers stop covering the costs, the reality of funding a post-work lifestyle can be daunting.
It’s understandable that many want to reward themselves after years of hard work, and Hua Hin offers an appealing alternative. Of course, it’s not for everyone. The people who thrive here are generally laid-back and looking for a balanced lifestyle – not those chasing all-night parties.
Hua Hin provides a unique rhythm. There’s always something happening, whether it’s events or activities, but the charm lies in the freedom to pick and choose. You can stay active or enjoy a quiet evening, with the weather and relaxed pace of life making it easy to settle in.
Hua Hin’s growing buzz
Recently, I got a call from a visitor planning to come in November. He asked me, “What’s going on in Hua Hin? Big names seem to be showing up!” He was right. We’re seeing an exciting buzz around the area, with well-known athletes, former boxers, footballers, and other celebrities attending events. It’s great to feel this growing energy, and I hope it continues for a long time to come.
Looking forward to hearing from some of you soon – or even better, seeing you here over the next month.
Yours sincerely,
Andy Dyett
