Hua Hin-based food tour operator Feast Thailand has been featured on Getaway, Australia’s longest-running travel and lifestyle television programme.
The episode, which aired recently, focused on the province of Phetchaburi and included footage of Feast Thailand’s Be a Rice Farmer Experience—an immersive activity that allows participants to learn about rice cultivation alongside local farmers.
Founded in 2016 by Leigh Higgins, Feast Thailand specialises in culinary tours that highlight authentic Thai cuisine, often away from the usual tourist trail. The company offers a range of experiences led by licensed English-speaking Thai tour guides, including Belle and Cream, who have been part of the team since its inception.
Speaking to Hua Hin Today, General Manager Leigh Higgins said the company was thrilled to be featured on such a prominent platform.
“When Australia’s longest-running, top-rating travel show, Getaway, approached us to film our Be a Rice Farmer Experience, we were super excited,” Leigh said. “Many travellers are looking for hands-on experiences where they can interact with local people. Every experience we offer at Feast Thailand always has a local food or produce element, which is the core of our business. Showcasing this activity will undoubtedly attract more travellers to experience what this region has to offer.”
The Be a Rice Farmer Experience is one of several offerings provided by Feast Thailand. Other popular tours include the Eat Like a Local Tour, Street Food & Morning Market Walking Tour, 4 Corners of Thailand: A Taste Sensation Tour, and The Real ‘Jing Jing’ Food Tour, which caters to experienced travellers seeking lesser-known dishes. Family-friendly options such as the Kids ‘n’ All Tour are also available.
In addition to food-focused experiences, Feast Thailand arranges private sightseeing trips and cultural excursions, along with assistance for transportation and local activities, offering visitors a comprehensive way to explore Hua Hin and its surroundings.
Getaway, which first aired in 1992 on Australia’s Nine Network and TLC, features a range of destinations suited to all types of travellers and budgets. The show remains a popular source of travel inspiration for Australian audiences.
