Prachuap Khiri Khan is moving forward with preparations for its upcoming Health Expo, an event aimed at promoting wellbeing and the development of community-based healthcare initiatives across the province.
On 18 April 2025, Deputy Governor Preeda Sukjai chaired a planning meeting at the Singkhon Conference Room on the third floor of the Provincial Hall. The meeting brought together representatives from various government departments and agencies involved in organising the event, which is set to take place in May.
This was the second such meeting to discuss arrangements for the Health Expo. The session focused on reviewing the event’s logistics, including exhibition layouts, booth planning, and the design of a symbolic event flag. Organisers also discussed updates to a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that outlines long-term plans to support the province’s “Prachuap Khiri Khan for Health” policy.
The MOU sets out a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening public health infrastructure and fostering health awareness at the local level. These include promoting healthcare knowledge in schools, enhancing skills and capacity among community health workers, and developing data systems to monitor community health trends.
Other priorities include establishing social rehabilitation and drug treatment facilities, creating safe and effective screening centres, and supporting the development of senior citizen centres. The province is also encouraging the formation of value-driven communities that promote knowledge-sharing and collective wellbeing.
A key objective of the MOU is to position Prachuap Khiri Khan as a “health-conscious province” that offers comprehensive care for residents of all ages while developing its potential as a health tourism destination. Officials believe that improving public health and wellness services will contribute to a higher quality of life for residents and support sustainable economic growth.
The province is working to formalise collaboration between the public sector, private organisations, and community groups through the MOU, which will serve as a framework for concrete cooperation.
