On Sunday 14 December, at the old Hua Hin “Love” Train Station depot, Thaibbq1999’s annual charity drive was joined by the Rotary Club of Hua Hin donated food to those in need and raised awareness of growing financial pressures across the country.

Rotary Club of Hua Hin President Sanisa Sriaj said the club once again brought together its resources to support vulnerable people in the local community and highlight the difficulties they are facing.

Ms Khemtada Pourpunpong, known as Honey, the owner of Thaibbq1999, said more than 1,000 BBQ skewers, along with a wide variety of food and essential daily necessities, were distributed to those in need. She said the project is held every December, marking the founder’s birth month, Father’s Day month, and a meaningful period to farewell the old year and welcome the New Year.

She added that in 2025 the project has grown even larger, thanks to strong cooperation and generous support from partners across all sectors, making the initiative more impactful and meaningful.

Several hundred people queued to receive meals, along with sacks of rice and other essential items.

Mr Sriaj, who also owns Amara, said that every contribution helps at a time when Thailand is experiencing economic hardship, flooding, war-related impacts, and political instability.

Sponsors included the Hua Hin–Cha-Am Tourism Association, El Toro Loco, the Tourism Council of Thailand, KSC Autopart, Pueng Design Hua Hin, Thai BBQ, and Amara Resort, among others.
