Thai AirAsia’s Hua Hin–Chiang Mai flights are now operating daily, with the increased frequency scheduled to continue until 27 March 2027.

The airline expanded the direct service from four days a week to seven on 25 October under its winter timetable, Deputy Transport Minister Phattharaphong Phattharaprasit said.

The additional flights are intended to meet high-season demand, giving residents of Hua Hin and neighbouring provinces more options for travelling north. The route also provides visitors from Chiang Mai with direct access to Hua Hin and surrounding destinations without connecting through Bangkok.

The daily schedule operates in both directions:

– Chiang Mai to Hua Hin: Flight FD3900 departs at 12:50 and arrives at 14:10.
– Hua Hin to Chiang Mai: Flight FD3901 departs at 14:40 and arrives at 15:55.

Danai Rueangsorn, director-general of the Department of Airports, said preparations at Hua Hin Airport covered safety standards, facilities and passenger services to accommodate additional flights and seasonal demand.

The department was coordinating with airlines and relevant agencies to help services run smoothly, he said.

Kitipong Siripetchkasem, president of the Hua Hin–Cha-am Tourism Business Association, welcomed the increased frequency, saying it would benefit tourism and local businesses.

He said the connection between Chiang Mai’s cultural attractions and Hua Hin’s seaside tourism would make travel more convenient for Thai and international visitors, while supporting hotels, restaurants and other local operators.

The association would work with businesses and other organisations to welcome passengers using the route, he added.
