Hua Hin Municipality, in collaboration with the private sector and the Cha-am Hua Hin Chef Club, will host the “Hua Hin Food Festival 2025” from 22 to 24 August at Baan Hua Don Beach in Khao Takiab.

The event marks the 88th anniversary of Hua Hin Municipality’s founding and is set to feature culinary showcases, entertainment, and a large-scale light and sound installation.

Plans for the festival were finalised at a meeting held on 25 July at the Hua Hin Municipality Office, chaired by Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul. Also in attendance were Deputy Mayors Bussaba Choksuchart and Saraphop Uengratsamee, Council President Cheep Suksri, and representatives from hotels, local businesses, and the Cha-am Hua Hin Chef Club.

Mayor Nopporn said this year’s festival will be held on a larger scale than in previous years, with the aim of enhancing Hua Hin’s reputation as a leading tourism destination. A municipal budget of 5 million baht has been allocated to support the event.

A central feature will be a 1-million-light display illuminating the festival grounds and surrounding area, including light projections on Khao Takiab. The event will also feature choreographed water shows, hot air balloons, concerts by well-known Thai artists, and around 80 food booths operated by hotels and businesses from Hua Hin and Cha-am.

A highlight of the opening day will see 88 chefs, led by Chef Noppadon Nuchcharoen from the Cha-am Hua Hin Chef Club, prepare a signature dish titled Stir-fried Prawns with Chili and Salt in White Wine Sauce. The dish, weighing a symbolic 88 kilograms and served in 88 separate plates, will be offered to 1,000 attendees.

The three-day food festival is expected to attract both Thai and international visitors and forms part of the city’s ongoing efforts to promote local tourism and hospitality businesses.
