A new water transmission pipeline project is expected to significantly improve the water supply capacity across Hua Hin City Municipality, officials have said.
The expansion project, led by the Royal Irrigation Department’s Office No. 14, will involve the construction of a pipeline and associated infrastructure connecting Phetchaburi and Hua Hin.
The pipeline is intended to strengthen water delivery to key urban areas, helping to meet the growing needs of residents and businesses.
On 22 July, Hua Hin’s Deputy Mayor Sanpop Uengrassamee and Mr. Noppadol Meeprawat, Head of the Service and Maintenance Division of the Municipal Waterworks Department, attended a meeting to discuss the implementation plan. The meeting was chaired by irrigation engineer Mr. Narit Wankaew at the Chuchart Irrigation Conference Room at the Irrigation Agriculture Learning Centre.
With much of the construction taking place in built-up areas of Hua Hin, discussions focused on minimising disruption for residents. Two installation methods will be used: underground pipe jacking and traditional trench digging.
Hua Hin water pipeline construction to start in August
The pipeline will start with pipe jacking near Pae Mai and the Irrigation Agriculture Learning Centre. It will then run through several phases, including trench digging and pipe jacking beneath key locations such as the railway line, Phra Pok Klao Road, the Chomsin roundabout, Amnuaysin Road, Srasong Road, and finally Damnoen Kasem Road. The pipeline will end at the Damnoen Kasem Reservoir, operated by Hua Hin’s Municipal Waterworks Department.
Construction is scheduled to take place from 15 August to 15 September 2025. Officials have said that public announcements will be issued during each phase of the project to advise people on any access restrictions or roadworks in affected areas.
Following the meeting, project representatives, including Mr. Boontavee Chantakit, Head of the Production Division at the Municipal Waterworks Department, visited the proposed construction sites and provided additional information to the public.
Once complete, the new pipeline is expected to significantly enhance water distribution across the municipality, reducing pressure on the existing system and improving service coverage for residents.
