A passenger travelling along the Pala-U Road in Hua Hin was thrown from a pickup truck after an elephant approached the vehicle and pushed him out, in an incident that has since gone viral on social media.
The footage, captured by a passerby, shows the elephant moving towards the pickup before using its trunk to push a passenger from the back of the vehicle, causing him to fall to the ground. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
While wild elephants are often seen along this stretch of road, particularly near the Pala-U checkpoint, they do not usually pose a threat to people. In this case, it is believed the elephant may have been searching for food.
Local residents and travellers have been urged to remain cautious when driving through the area, as encounters with wild elephants can be unpredictable.
Calls have also been made for authorities to monitor the situation and implement measures to enhance public safety.
The video has gained widespread attention online, with many social media users sharing it as a reminder of the importance of exercising caution in areas where wild elephants roam.
