A major Hua Hin road project is intended to ease congestion by creating an alternative route along the eastern side of the railway, parallel to Phetkasem Road and behind Market Village and Bluport.
The road will be seven metres wide and carry traffic in both directions. Formal start and completion dates are expected to be announced soon.
The Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, under the Ministry of Interior, will carry out the project, which covers approximately eight kilometres across three sections. The route will serve areas between northern Hua Hin, the town centre and Nong Kae.
Where the Hua Hin road project will run
According to details presented to the project’s construction inspection and acceptance committee, the work is divided into:
- Soi 2 to Soi 6: A 1.78-kilometre section in northern Hua Hin.
- Soi 10 to Soi 68: A 3.76-kilometre section from behind Hua Hin Hospital to Soi Rong Lek.
- Soi 88 to the Hua Na flyover: A 2.65-kilometre southern section beginning in the Bon Kai area.
The project is also expected to improve the appearance of the railway corridor.
Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul attended a meeting of the construction inspection and acceptance committee on 14 September, joined by municipal engineers and provincial public works officials. The meeting took place at the project’s construction supervision office in Hua Hin.
The following day, the municipality’s Strategy and Budget Division discussed plans to explain the road project to residents at a meeting chaired by Deputy Mayor Atichat Chaisri. Its public relations team will prepare videos outlining the work.
The railway-side road was also among the priorities Mayor Nopporn discussed in a recent in-depth interview with Hua Hin Today. He spoke about its role in improving local connections and strengthening drainage in flood-prone areas, alongside other priorities including air connectivity and water supplies.
