Hua Hin Municipality is moving ahead with an approximately eight-kilometre road along the eastern side of the railway, with construction under way on the first section between Hua Hin Soi 2 and Soi 6 in Bo Fai.

The project covers a route from Hua Hin Airport to the Hua Na flyover. The municipality says it will connect different parts of the city and provide an alternative to Phetkasem Road, helping ease congestion during periods of heavy traffic.

Funding and construction supervision are provided by the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning.

Work is divided into three sections. In addition to the stretch under construction in Bo Fai, the second section will run from Hua Hin Soi 10, behind Hua Hin Hospital, to Soi 68, also known as Soi Rong Lek.

The third section will extend from Hua Hin Soi 88 in the Bon Kai area to beneath the Hua Na flyover.

Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul submitted a formal request in 2024 for permission to use land belonging to the State Railway of Thailand.

In 2026, the railway authority granted permission and signed an agreement giving the municipality surface rights to six plots alongside the tracks, between kilometre markers 205+490 and 219+240.

Route surveys and boundary marking have also been carried out as part of preparations for the project, which falls under the municipality’s area development and landscape improvement programme.

The municipality has asked motorists to avoid sections where construction is taking place for safety and to minimise disruption to their journeys.
