Bluport Hua Hin has opened the “Elegance of Thai Women #3” event to mark National Mother’s Day and National Thai Fabric Day, highlighting the role of Thai textiles and craftsmanship in contemporary fashion.
The event, held in partnership with the Proud Group, the Thailand Textile Institute (THTI), and public and private sector partners, runs from 10 to 12 August at the Hua Hin Convention Centre. This year’s theme is “Grace in Identity – Beauty Radiating from Our Roots.”
Former Deputy Prime Minister Suwat Liptapanlop presided over the opening ceremony, joined by Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Dr. Sittichai Sadsan, Thailand Textile Institute Director Dr. Chanchai Sirikasemlert, and other local officials and industry representatives.

The highlight of the event is the “Grace in Identity Runway” fashion show, presenting Thai fabrics in a modern context. Designs by students and emerging designers blend cultural elements with contemporary styles, modelled by 30 male and female models.
Over the four days, visitors can explore rare fabric displays, educational exhibitions, handicraft workshops, and a community product zone featuring more than 30 vendors. The programme also includes a talk titled “Contemporary Thai Fabrics – Aesthetic Roots Shaping the Future of Design” by Liada Chalitnatkul, founder of C&Cerious Tic Knitwear.
Organisers say the event provides a platform to connect tradition with modernity, promote local knowledge, and encourage younger generations to value Thai heritage. Entry is free.
Elegance of Thai Women #3 runs until 12 August at the Hua Hin Convention Centre, Bluport Hua Hin.
