The Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, Sitthichai Sawatsan, officially opened the “Prachuap Khiri Khan Tourism: Wonders of the Three Bays and Red Cross Fair 2025” on Friday, aiming to promote tourism, stimulate the local economy, and highlight the province’s cultural identity.
The opening ceremony took place at the main stage in Chalerm Phrakiat Rama IX Park, in front of the Provincial Hall, with Dr Busakorn Sawatsan, President of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Red Cross Chapter, deputy governors, government officials, local residents, and tourists in attendance.
Ahead of the opening, a cultural parade featuring traditions from all eight districts of the province made its way from Wing 5 along Sala Cheep Road to the Provincial Hall. The ceremony’s highlight was a light and sound performance titled “Amazing Shooting Star: Diversity in Harmony,” which showcased unity through the diversity of local traditions.
Running from 25 April to 4 May 2025 at Chalerm Phrakiat Rama IX Park and along Ao Prachuap’s beachfront road, the event is designed to promote Prachuap Khiri Khan’s “soft power,” support the local tourism sector, and raise funds for the Red Cross’s charitable activities.
This year’s event features an exhibition zone with displays from 20 government ministries under the theme “Next Move Prachuap: Moving Forward Together.” Exhibitions cover ten key development areas, including water management, marine tourism conservation, agricultural promotion, and efforts to strengthen the tourism workforce. Strategies to establish Prachuap Khiri Khan as a “Wellness Province” are also being promoted, with a focus on wellness tourism and safe travel experiences.
