A Hua Hin city museum is included in plans for a new seven-storey municipal office building to be constructed directly behind the existing offices on Phetkasem Road.

The proposed design provides space for the museum and an exhibition highlighting the municipality’s history and achievements, alongside offices and public service facilities.

Municipal Clerk Jirawat Phrammani chaired a meeting on 9 September to review the design on behalf of Hua Hin’s mayor. Deputy Municipal Clerk Nuengruethai Sukchan, design review committee members and heads of relevant departments attended the meeting at the municipal offices.

The plans remain under review, with departments asked to assess whether the proposed layout meets their operational needs and provides convenient access for the public. Details of the museum’s displays were not provided.

Public services in the new municipal building

The building is planned to accommodate the Medical Services, Social Welfare, and Public Health and Environment divisions. It will also include offices for the municipal executive team, a council chamber, meeting rooms and reception rooms.

Parking and public toilets are included in the design, with accessible facilities for people with disabilities and older people.

The review covered movement through the building and between floors, fire protection and emergency evacuation arrangements. Energy efficiency and sustainable design were also considered.

Jirawat said departmental layouts should prioritise convenient, prompt and safe service for residents. He asked the relevant departments to review their space requirements together so the design can meet the municipality’s future public service needs.

The update did not specify a construction budget or timetable.
