The Hua Hin cultural festival “Under the Royal Patronage: Tourism of Si Khiri Khan” officially opened on 10 August 2026 at the historic Hua Hin Railway Station, bringing together performances and traditions from across Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Dr Sitthichai Sawatsan, Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Nopporn Wuttikul, Mayor of Hua Hin, jointly presided over the opening ceremony.
The ceremony, which began at 6.45pm, was attended by deputy governors, district chiefs and heads of government agencies, along with local officials and members of the community.
The event features a variety of cultural performances representing all eight districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
Highlights include traditional Thai music performances by Keng Thachaya, as well as a solo saxophone performance by renowned musician Ko Saxman, featuring a selection of His Majesty the King’s royal compositions.
The festival will run until 18 August 2026, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the cultural heritage, traditions and local identity of Prachuap Khiri Khan’s eight districts in the historic setting of Hua Hin Railway Station.
Festival showcases all eight districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan
Dr Sitthichai said that, as he is due to retire from government service later this year, he wanted to organise a special event in Hua Hin that would bring together all eight districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan.
“Hua Hin is the ‘Father’s Home’ and one of Thailand’s historic tourist destinations. It is a place that the people of Hua Hin must preserve and take care of for visitors who come here,” he said.
The Governor also expressed confidence in Hua Hin’s future as an international tourism destination.
He noted that, in the near future, airlines from the ASEAN region are expected to operate flights to Hua Hin Airport, while the development of the motorway network will further improve the city’s connectivity and support its growth.
With these developments, Hua Hin is expected to play an increasingly important role in driving tourism across the province, with tourism-related revenue across all eight districts projected to reach approximately 55 billion baht per year.
Dr Sitthichai concluded by calling on the people of Hua Hin and residents across all districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan to uphold their love for the nation, religion and monarchy, while strengthening unity and solidarity.
He said cooperation and unity among the people would help the province continue to move forward and develop under the shared vision:
