The HUAHIN50 Trail Run returns on 16–17 January 2027, with three trail races and a family event showcasing the hills and countryside surrounding Hua Hin.

Organised by Sports Republic Thailand as part of The Legendary Trail Series, the event is expected to attract 2,500 participants across the weekend. All races will start and finish at Thapthai Obotor Public Park.

The programme begins at 4pm on Saturday, 16 January with the 3 km Family & Kids Run. Open to children, parents, friends and walkers, it offers an opportunity to get involved without entering one of the longer trail races.

On Sunday, 17 January, runners will take on the 11 km, 25 km and flagship 50 km courses.

Exploring Hua Hin’s trails

While Hua Hin is best known for its beaches and seaside lifestyle, only a few kilometres inland lies a landscape of mountains, forests and countryside, connected by an extensive network of trails.

The HUAHIN50 routes explore three local landmarks: Hin Toen, Hin Lek Fai and Khao Yai.

– The 11 km course introduces runners to Hin Toen.
– The 25 km course combines Hin Toen and Hin Lek Fai.
– The 50 km course takes in all three mountains.

The distances offer options for those discovering trail running as well as experienced runners seeking a longer challenge. Under the motto “Where Legends Are Made”, the event encourages participants to take on a personal challenge, whatever their chosen distance.

An event for runners, families and the community

Saturday’s Family & Kids Run places the emphasis on enjoyment and being active together. Children can run alongside their parents, while walkers are equally welcome.

Sports Republic Thailand hopes the weekend will introduce more residents and visitors to Hua Hin’s outdoor attractions, while giving local communities an opportunity to participate in sport close to home.

The organisers are also working to develop HUAHIN50 as a green and sustainable event, encouraging participants and partners to minimise waste, respect the trails and protect the natural areas along the routes.

Giving something back to Hua Hin

Serge Henkens, managing director and race director of Sports Republic Thailand, said:

“We are very proud to bring HUAHIN50 back to Hua Hin. The event is an opportunity to showcase another side of our city, its mountains, trails and beautiful countryside, while bringing runners, families and the local community together through sport.”

“After more than 25 years organising sporting events in Thailand, and now as a Hua Hin resident myself, I’m very happy to use that experience to give something back to the community and contribute to creating a quality event that Hua Hin can be proud of.”

Sports Republic Thailand thanked Hua Hin District, Hua Hin Municipality, Thapthai Subdistrict Administrative Organisation, the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Hua Hin Tourism Association for their cooperation and support.
