Music enthusiasts gathered in large numbers on Saturday evening for the Hua Hin Jazzical Concert, a collaborative event featuring world-renowned jazz artists and cultural performances.

Held at the Hua Hin Convention Centre in Bluport Hua Hin, the concert brought together local and international talent to celebrate the enduring appeal of jazz music in the town.

The event was headlined by Igor Butman, a celebrated Russian jazz musician and national artist, alongside Thai vocalist Gam Wichayanee Piaklin. Their performance, a blend of jazz and powerful vocals, captivated the audience.

Also attending the event was Suwat Liptapanlop, a former Deputy Prime Minister, who highlighted the festival’s role in promoting tourism in Hua Hin.

Bluport Hua Hin partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, and private sector organisations from Thailand and Russia to organise the concert. The initiative aimed to reinforce Hua Hin’s status as a global tourist destination and its reputation for hosting international cultural events.

The evening began with a performance that combined Western jazz and traditional Thai music, setting the tone for a unique cultural experience. Nopporn Perdpraew, a noted Thai reciter, presented a specially composed verse celebrating Thai-Russian cultural and tourism ties. This was followed by performances from the Swing King band, special guest singer Ingdao, and the Igor Butman Quartet, whose set earned enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

Suwat Liptapanlop remarked on Hua Hin’s long association with jazz and the festival’s potential to attract international visitors. He emphasised that events like the Hua Hin Jazzical Concert play a vital role in boosting tourism, particularly during the year-end season, and highlighted Hua Hin’s growing popularity among both Thai and foreign travellers.

“Hua Hin has long been a hub for art and music, hosting numerous world-class performances. This concert not only reaffirms that legacy but also demonstrates the town’s capability to host events of an international calibre,” Suwat said. “By showcasing our cultural diversity and fostering a welcoming atmosphere, we can leave a lasting impression on visitors, encouraging them to return and contribute to sustainable tourism growth.”

The event also supported Bluport’s environmental campaign, “Bluport Hugs the World,” which promotes sustainability and community engagement. Comprehensive waste management and recycling measures were implemented during the festival, earning positive feedback from attendees.
