A newly renovated Tourist Service Centre was officially handed over to the Hua Hin Municipality on Wednesday (Mar 5) in a ceremony held at the Clock Tower in the town centre.
The project, spearheaded by the Lions Club of Hua Hin, aims to improve services for both Thai and international visitors as the town prepares for its upgrade to “Hua Hin City Municipality” in early April.
The handover event, which began at 9:00 AM, saw Mr. Pramote Thanyakulsajja, President of the Lions Club of Hua Hin, and the club’s executive committee formally present the centre to Mr. Atichat Chaisri, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin Municipality. Attendees included representatives from the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Business Association, the Prachuap Tourism Business Association, the Tourist Police, local police, and the Royal Rotary Club, all of whom congratulated the Lions Club on the achievement.
The Lions Club of Hua Hin funded and managed a full renovation of the facility, with a total budget of 200,000 THB. The upgrades include a fresh coat of exterior paint, new signage, and refurbished interiors. The municipality plans to staff the centre with English-speaking personnel to provide daily assistance, offering information on local attractions and travel advice to visitors.
Mr. Atichat Chaisri thanked the Lions Club for their efforts, noting that the improved centre will play a key role as Hua Hin approaches its transition to city municipality status later this month. “This upgrade reflects Hua Hin’s growing status as a destination for Thai and international tourists,” he said, referencing the town’s back-to-back years of global recognition.
He also outlined upcoming plans under Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul to establish two prominent landmarks—the Clock Tower and a site atop Khao Hin Lek Fai, known as Iron Mountain. These will serve as focal points to welcome visitors and mark Hua Hin’s evolution into a city municipality.
The Tourist Service Centre is expected to begin operations shortly, supporting the municipality’s goal of enhancing the visitor experience as tourist numbers continue to rise.
