Households offered up to 88,600 baht after Phetchaburi fireworks explosion
Households affected by the Phetchaburi fireworks explosion are receiving compensation of up to 88,600 baht each, with payments based on the damage to their properties.
Ton Mamuang Municipality allocated a total of 832,960 baht for 30 households following the explosion in Ban Rai Tin Nam, Mueang Phetchaburi district.
Officials distributed the financial assistance at a temporary shelter in Moo 2 on Wednesday, August 26.
Compensation after Phetchaburi fireworks explosion
The explosion occurred on July 14, damaging roofs, ceilings and windows at homes in the surrounding area. Several vehicles were also damaged, while two owners of the property where the explosion occurred were injured.
Representatives from several agencies inspected the affected area following the incident and assessed the damage before the compensation payments were approved.
Ton Mamuang Mayor Police Sub-Lieutenant Kanoksak Mutthakan attended the distribution of the funds alongside deputy mayors, municipal council members and local administrative officials.
They were joined by Noppadon Klinthanom, senior deputy district chief of Mueang Phetchaburi.
The municipality said the payments were calculated according to the level of damage at each property and capped at 88,600 baht per household.
The money came from the municipality’s public disaster assistance programme and was provided under Ministry of Interior regulations governing local authorities’ spending on assistance for residents.
