Prachuap Khiri Khan has set out a long-term development vision focused on tourism, health, investment and quality of life, as officials review the Prachuap development plan through to 2042.
Deputy Governor Chief Petty Officer Phanphat Sitthisak chaired a meeting at Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Hall on 11 August to gather views on the province’s 20-year development goals and its next five-year plan.
The meeting brought together government agencies, local authorities, military and police representatives, civil society groups and members of the public, with some participants joining online.
Tourism and health central to long-term plan

The province’s 20-year strategy covers six areas: tourism; agriculture and industry; trade and investment; society and quality of life; natural resources and the environment; and water resources.
The roadmap is divided into four phases.
The first phase, covering 2023–2027, aims to strengthen Prachuap Khiri Khan as an international tourism destination, promote high-value agriculture, upgrade Singkhon to a permanent border checkpoint and improve social wellbeing.
From 2028–2032, the province plans to develop as a “health-conscious city”, followed by a “sustainable health-conscious city” from 2033–2037.
The final phase, covering 2038–2042, sets the goal of making Prachuap Khiri Khan a sustainable and liveable province.
Five-year Prachuap development plan under review
The consultation will also help shape the Prachuap development plan for 2028–2032.
Officials said the plan is intended to align with Thailand’s national strategy and other development frameworks while responding to local needs.
Participants discussed proposals, programmes and projects that could be included in the five-year plan, which will guide provincial development across a range of sectors.
