Prachuap Khiri Khan is preparing to host the second edition of the Father’s Home Sufficiency Economy Fair, which will take place from 18 to 22 June 2025 at Bluport Hua Hin shopping centre.

The event is being organised to honour the memory of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great (King Rama IX) and his contributions to Thailand’s development through the Sufficiency Economy philosophy. It will also form part of the province’s Next Move Prachuap initiative, which aims to promote sustainable growth and local innovation.

Preparations for the fair were discussed during a meeting of the organising committee, chaired by Deputy Governor Preeda Sukjai, on 6 June at the provincial hall. The meeting was held on behalf of Governor Sitthichai Sawatsan and was attended by senior government officials and members of the organising team.

The five-day fair will feature a range of activities designed to highlight the legacy of King Rama IX and showcase local achievements in agriculture, sustainability, and community development.

The fair’s programme includes five main sections:

Exhibitions
Visitors will be able to view a range of exhibitions, including 64 Years in Prachuap Khiri Khan, photography displays, live performances of royal compositions and jazz music, presentations on royal initiatives, and an introduction to the Sufficiency Economy philosophy.

Academic activities
Educational displays will cover a variety of topics such as natural farming techniques, the Khog, Nong, Na agricultural model, organic and safe farming practices, modern agricultural methods using smart technology, and water resource management in Prachuap Khiri Khan.

Competitions and demonstrations
The fair will also host competitions for agricultural produce, including pineapple and durian, as well as a drip coffee competition and a showcase of standout local products. In addition, there will be culinary activities aimed at promoting food tourism, such as chef contests and competitions featuring dishes prepared from local ingredients.

Market and product sales
A marketplace will offer seasonal produce, geographical indication (GI) products such as durian and coconut, processed goods and OTOP products, plants and gardening supplies, agricultural equipment, and consumer items.

Tourism promotion
A dedicated section of the fair will focus on promoting tourism within the province, with an emphasis on community-based tourism and opportunities to experience local culture and products.

The Father’s Home Sufficiency Economy Fair is expected to attract visitors from across the region and provide a platform to promote sustainable practices and local innovation in line with King Rama IX’s vision for the country’s development.
