Hua Hin Municipality is introducing new road safety measures outside Hua Hin Provincial Court following repeated accidents on a curved section of road leading towards Khao Chong Pradu.

Mayor Nopporn Wutthikul inspected the area on Thursday, 13 August, with municipal officials and representatives from the Prachuap Khiri Khan Highway District to assess the problem and discuss possible safety improvements.

Hua Hin Provincial Court Chief Judge Phongphat Asitiratt and Pornphak Statham, director of the Hua Hin Provincial Court Office, also joined the inspection and raised concerns about conditions on the road.

Warning signs to be installed near Hua Hin Provincial Court

Officials said the section in front of the court includes a bend where vehicles travelling in opposite directions meet while going uphill and downhill towards Khao Chong Pradu.

The layout of the road has been identified as a possible factor in a number of accidents reported in the area.

As an initial response, the mayor instructed Hua Hin Municipality’s Engineering Department to install additional warning signs urging motorists to drive with caution.

Illuminated warning signs will also be installed, while advance signage will be added before drivers reach the bend to make them more aware of the road conditions ahead.

The measures are intended to improve visibility and give motorists more time to slow down and approach the section with greater caution.

Set Chan-at, deputy director of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Highway District (Hua Hin), joined the inspection as officials considered how to improve safety at the site.
