Customs officers seized smuggled goods including 1,548 cartons of foreign cigarettes, three e-cigarettes and 408 bottles of soft drinks from a vehicle at Huai Yang checkpoint on 2 September.
Officers from Prachuap Khiri Khan Customs House worked with other agencies to stop and search the vehicle on Phetkasem Road in Thap Sakae district.
The Customs Department said the goods had been smuggled to evade customs duties. Their combined value, including duties, totalled 3,619,262 baht.
Foreign cigarettes accounted for most of the total, with their value and customs duties assessed at 3,612,369 baht. The corresponding figures were 1,669 baht for the e-cigarettes and 5,224 baht for the soft drinks.
