Hua Hin burglaries: CCTV shows intruder as residents sleep

A CCTV image showing a suspected burglar inside a Hua Hin home while the residents slept has emerged amid reports of a spate of Hua Hin burglaries around the Soi 102 area.

Hua Hin Today understands there have been at least 10 reported break-ins in the area over the past month. Two victims have contacted Hua Hin Today directly, while several other incidents have been reported by residents in local Facebook groups.

Police are understood to be investigating.

CCTV shows intruder inside occupied home

One of the most concerning incidents happened at around 4.20am on Saturday, 15 August.

The residents had recently installed a security camera and captured about 20 minutes of footage showing a man walking around inside their home.

According to the victims, the man entered their bedroom while they were asleep, closed the bedroom door and continued moving around the property.

“He appeared completely unafraid that we might wake up,” one of the residents said in an appeal for information.

A Marshall speaker and a ruby pendant were stolen, while bags belonging to the residents were also searched.

Images taken from the security footage show a man with distinctive eyebrows. The residents have asked anyone who recognises him or the logo on his clothing to contact them or police.

Multiple burglaries reported around Soi 102

In another report, four homes near the top of Soi 102 were said to have been targeted, including two occupied properties and two that were unoccupied.

Residents said air-conditioning equipment and wiring were removed from some properties.

In some cases, those responsible were also reported to have switched off electricity and Wi-Fi connections and disconnected exterior security cameras before entering the properties.

One resident said a masked man entered a home occupied by an elderly woman who lives alone.

Another property was reportedly cleared of appliances and other valuables.

Residents in the area have described the break-ins as appearing organised and have urged neighbours to check their security and remain alert.

Anyone with information about the incidents or who recognises the man shown in the CCTV images should contact police.
