Back in Time: The Charm of Su Suek event to be held in Prachuap, 3-7 September
Prachuap Khiri Khan will stage a five-day event on Su Suek Cultural Street from 3–7 September, combining heritage activities, markets and performances as part of plans to develop the area into a nationally recognised cultural tourism destination.
The “Back in Time: The Charm of Su Suek” event will run from 5pm to 10pm each day in the Hua Ban community and is being organised by the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Administrative Organisation (PAO) and Prachuap Khiri Khan Municipality. Admission is free.
Details were announced at a press conference on 17 August, where the two local authorities also signed an agreement to work together on the conservation, development and promotion of Su Suek Cultural Street.
Officials said the partnership would help coordinate budgets and personnel while promoting the area to Thai and international visitors and generating income for local businesses and residents.
Su Suek Cultural Street to showcase local history

Activities will focus on the history and character of the Hua Ban community, including its old houses, traditional lifestyles, art and culture.
Visitors will be encouraged to dress in period clothing, with a retro costume competition among the main attractions.
Another activity, “Elders Tell the Story of the Town”, will give older residents the opportunity to share memories and stories about the community with younger generations and visitors.
Sarawut Lim-arunrak, President of the Prachuap Khiri Khan PAO, said organisers wanted activities spread along the entire street rather than concentrated around a main stage.
“We don’t simply want to organise an event. We want to bring Su Suek Road to life,” he said.
Retro dancing, market and street activities
Other highlights will include a retro ballroom dancing flash mob, a community market, live music, cultural performances, decorative lighting and vintage-style photo areas.
Visitors will also be able to take part in the “Discover the Charm of Su Suek” activity, using mobile phones to check in at locations along the street and collect points that can be exchanged for souvenirs.
A photography exhibition featuring local residents at historic homes, shops and street-art locations will also be displayed during the event.
