Vehicle emissions checks in Prachuap Khiri Khan found no breaches of legal black smoke limits among 753 vehicles tested on Friday, 2 October, the provincial transport office said.
Officials used standard testing equipment to measure emissions as part of continuing measures to tackle PM2.5 fine particulate pollution and reduce air pollution at its source.
Vehicle emissions checks target diesel transport
The Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Transport Office has instructed officials to conduct spot checks on main and secondary roads across its jurisdiction. Inspections cover all types of vehicles, with particular attention to public buses, lorries and diesel-powered cars.
The office has also urged transport operators and vehicle owners to service their engines regularly, change engine oil and ensure combustion systems are working properly to help reduce emissions.
