Three community events brought people together for hiking, running and water-based fun in Pranburi and Hua Hin over the weekend.

The activities formed part of the Why Hua Hin? Community Event Series, organised ahead of Why Hua Hin? The Hua Hin Expo 2026, which will take place at Bluport Hua Hin on 14 and 15 November.

The weekend began on Saturday, 29 August, when hikers and runners set off from Racer Marina in Pranburi to explore the surrounding area.

Pranburi hike and water jousting at Racer Marina

Participants could choose a four-kilometre hike or a longer running route of around nine to ten kilometres. The event offered people the chance to get active, meet new people and discover a different side of Pranburi.

After completing their routes, the groups returned to Racer Marina for coffee and breakfast before the morning’s activities continued with water jousting.

Two competitors stood on separate boats armed with padded lances, with each trying to knock their opponent into the water while remaining upright. The activity brought plenty of laughs for both the competitors and those watching from the marina.

Visitors could also take free Jonny Boat test rides, explore fishing boats and kayaks, and view motorcycles and accessories from Honda and Cub House. Free motorcycle test rides were available throughout the day.

The Pranburi activities were organised by Hua Hin Trail Runners and Racer Marina in partnership with Hua Hin Today and Why Hua Hin? The Hua Hin Expo.

Hin Lek Fai hike attracts participants of all ages

The community event series continued on Sunday, 30 August, with the Iconic Hua Hin Hike at Hin Lek Fai Mountain.

People aged from seven to 77 joined the hike, with a mix of nationalities, ages and fitness levels taking part.

Led by the experienced team from Sport Republic Thailand, participants chose between 4.5-kilometre and 6.2-kilometre routes through the lesser-known trails of one of Hua Hin’s most recognisable landmarks.

The routes gave hikers an opportunity to explore parts of the mountain that many had not previously visited while enjoying views across Hua Hin and the surrounding area.

The weekend’s events reflected the aim of the Why Hua Hin? Community Event Series, which is designed to bring people together while highlighting the activities, organisations and places that make Hua Hin and the surrounding area special.

More community events will take place in the lead-up to the expo at Bluport Hua Hin on 14 and 15 November.

Sport Republic Thailand will also return for the Hua Hin 50 on 17 January 2027, featuring distances of 50km, 25km, 11km and a 3km family run. Registration is available at https://thaimaster.me/e/HUAHIN50-2027
