Sai Noi Beach: A scenic cove near Hua Hin gaining popularity

When most people think of Hua Hin’s coastline, they picture its long stretch of sandy beach extending for over 10 kilometres, lined with hotels and restaurants. But just south of Khao Tao Temple lies a smaller, more secluded cove that offers a different experience – Sai Noi Beach.

Once regarded as a “hidden gem”, Sai Noi is no longer a secret. Don’t let the images here deceive you. These photos were taken just early in the morning.

While it can still be quiet during weekdays and in the low season, weekends now see more visitors making the trip to enjoy what is often described as the most picturesque beach in the area. Sai Noi Beach is also a nice spot to watch the sunrise in Hua Hin.

Unique setting and natural features

Sai Noi Beach – also known as Hat Sai Noi – measures around 360 metres in length, framed at each end by natural rock formations. At the southern end, Thung Sai Yai features a striking black rocky promontory that juts into the sea, a distinctive landmark compared with the surrounding coastline.

The beach is wide enough for sunbathing and beach games, and the water is generally safe for swimming. Small local food stalls, a handful of umbrellas and deckchairs for rent, and limited accommodation add to the laid-back atmosphere.

A different view of Hua Hin

At the northern end, visitors can climb to a viewpoint that offers panoramic views over Sai Noi Beach and the Hua Hin coastline stretching into the distance. The combination of sand, sea, and nearby hills provides a setting that contrasts with Hua Hin’s main beach.

A small resort and a couple of restaurants operate here, catering to both day visitors and those staying overnight. While the area has become busier in recent years, it remains a quieter option compared with Hua Hin’s main tourist spots, especially outside peak periods.
