More than 3,500 runners joined the 5th Hua Hin Marathon on Sunday morning, with participants from across Thailand and overseas competing in the annual event held in Khao Takiab, Hua Hin.
The event, which began at 5:00 a.m. on 11 May 2025, was officially launched by Prachuap Khiri Khan Governor Dr Sitthichai Sawatsan at the grounds of Wat Khao Krailas. The marathon is part of the 19th “Protect Hua Hin Run” and is held in honour of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, with the winners of the full marathon receiving the Royal Trophy bestowed by the Princess.
In the 42.195-kilometre marathon, the Royal Trophy was awarded to Anuchit Boonyakit, 37, who completed the course in 2 hours and 51 minutes, and Saichon Morgan, 44, who finished in 3 hours and 23 minutes.
The event was organised by Krip Rojanasathien, President of the Protect Hua Hin Club, under the royal patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Runners took part across four race categories: the full marathon, half marathon, mini-marathon, and a fun run for health. The course offered coastal views and passed through key parts of Hua Hin, attracting both competitive athletes and recreational runners.
The Protect Hua Hin Run series is a longstanding initiative aimed at promoting health and fitness while supporting community and environmental projects in the area.
The 5th Hua Hin Marathon continues to grow in popularity and remains one of the province’s most anticipated running events of the year.
