The Phra Nakhon Khiri – Mueang Phet Festival gets underway this week on Friday and is well worth adding to the calendar.

Phetchaburi’s biggest annual events, the festival brings together royal tribute parades, cultural performances, exhibitions, traditional crafts and plenty of local food. This year’s edition also features a major parade honouring all ten reigns of the Chakri Dynasty, with activities spread across Khao Wang and nearby venues.
Fireworks: Nightly from 8.00pm
Travel tip from Hua Hin & Cha-am: Going by car or taxi is the easiest option. Park near the Sun Hotel and walk around 10 minutes to the festival area, or take the nearby cable car up to Khao Wang for views over the city.
Our advice: Try to arrive by around 5.30pm. The area gets busy in the early evening, especially on weekends, and arriving earlier makes parking and getting around much easier.
The Phra Nakhon Khiri Festival is one of the region’s standout annual events and well worth a visit.
