Hua Hin Film Club will screen Oil City Confidential and welcome Dr. Feelgood manager Chris Fenwick for a post-film conversation at Hard Rock Cafe Hua Hin on Sunday, 15 November 2026.
Admission is free for the club’s third screening, which follows two warmly received film evenings. Advance reservations are strongly recommended as seating is limited.
Directed by British filmmaker Julien Temple, Oil City Confidential tells the story of Dr. Feelgood, the rhythm and blues band that emerged from Canvey Island, Essex, in the early 1970s.
Combining archive footage, music and interviews, the documentary explores the band’s distinctive sound, personalities and influence on the British music scene.
Fenwick, the band’s long-time manager, has been closely involved with Dr. Feelgood since its formative years and appears in the documentary. His attendance will give audiences an opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of the people and events featured in the film.
After the screening, he will share memories of the band, discuss the music scene of the era and reflect on the experiences captured in Temple’s documentary.
The event continues the club’s aim of bringing audiences together for films followed by discussion with people connected to their stories.
“What makes Hua Hin Film Club special is what happens after the credits roll. We want to bring people together not only to watch remarkable films, but also to meet people connected to those stories, exchange ideas and enjoy conversations that continue long after the screening,” said club chair Dirk De Cuyper.
